Meet the Team
Alan has always had a passion for painting and building things out of metal and wood. He took fabrication classes in high school, and built a house for habitat for humanity. When he graduated high school in 2000, He started working for a major body shop/car dealer in Rexburg Idaho. He started prepping for Kevin Halford whom is now his business partner here at Velocity Auto Body. Kevin taught Alan how to prep cars and started teaching him how to paint; this time only grew his love for the industry of automotive auto body and paint. After advancing as far as possible at the dealership, Alan acquired a job in Idaho Falls Idaho building luxury motorhomes out of semi trucks, He was hired to do fabrication, body work and paint. When the opportunity arose to purchase a body shop in his hometown, He and his business partner Kevin Halford, jumped at the opportunity. He is happy to be back in the industry that He loves and can't wait to make this business grow into something that will sustain our employees and families for many years to come.
Kevin has been in Auto Body and Collision repair since 1982 were he started working in his Dad’s shop learning body repair and Paint application. In 1988 he moved on to a Big Dealership’s body shop, where he worked as a combo Body Tech and Paint Tech, learning more techniques in his trade. The year 1999 brought a new change, he moved on to a different Large Dealership’s shop where he worked mainly as the Paint Tech. In 2008 Kevin moved on again progressing his Auto Body and Paint Career, he went to work for BASF, the worlds largest chemical company and National Coatings Supply Company the 2nd largest auto body supply, as a paint tech and trainer where he worked for the next 10 years traveling to different Body Shops all over the US, helping with paint issues and training paint techs. In 2016 with his partner Alan Nickell the Purchase of an established 42 year old Body Shop became a reality, and Velocity Auto Body was born.
Ruth brings to Velocity Auto Body over 25 years of Business Management and Bookkeeping experience, in 1993 she started and ran her own successful Outside Plant Construction business for 14 years. She moved on to a position for large Electrical Contractor in Jackson Wyoming for several years as the Payroll Clerk and Materials Manager. Switching gears in 2012 Ruth got her Insurance license and sold insurance for several years, giving her a great background for dealing with the insurance companies for Velocity Auto body..
After three years of schooling, Daniel Began his career in Auto Body and collision in 2006, working nearly a year as a prepper for the painter at a Major Auto Body Shop . In 2007 he went to work for a Dealership in their Body shop as a prepper and eventually started painting. After being there for four years, Daniel moved on to a few various other occupations, but came back to Auto Body in January 2014 as a Painter For a very Large Body Shop. In June of 2016 Velocity Auto Body added Daniel to the business as our painter where we hope he will stay for years to come.
Reese, our Body tech intern, came to Velocity Auto Body Fresh out of College and has been with us since December of 2016, He is improving greatly in all aspects of auto body and accels in wiring and accessory installation.
Brett, has been in the Auto Body industry for over 35 years and knows every aspect of collision repair and restoration, working in several Major Dealership body shops over the years he has gleaned a wide variety of knowledge and skill. Brett is also our in house expert on Motorcyle repair
Gage has been with Velocity since its inception as an intern learning all aspects of the the industry part time after school and during the summer breaks
